Pixxel is an Indian company that uses satellites to study Earth.

It has raised $100 million from investors including Temasek and Seraphim.

This brings the company’s total funding to $195 million.

Pixxel began by making hyperspectral satellites that can see details ordinary satellite cameras may miss.

The company will use the money to build more satellites and improve its Aurora software.

Aurora turns satellite information into useful insights for governments, businesses, and researchers.

Pixxel also plans to make satellites faster at its Gigapixxel factory.

It already operates six Firefly satellites and is working on several government and commercial space projects.

“Years ago, we set out to build a health monitor for the planet. Hyperspectral imaging gave us a fundamentally new way to see Earth. This new investment gives us the scale to turn that vision into planetary infrastructure. More ways of sensing, more intelligence from every image, and more sovereign capability for nations. Our goal is to make a changing planet understandable in time to act”
