Family claims inaction led to Gurugram killing; two cops suspended
A young man named Sagar lived in a city called Bangalore but went back to his village home in Gurugram with his family.
A few days earlier, his father had told the police about a fight with a man named Sachet.
Sagar's family says the police did not do anything about that complaint.
Then on August 6, a group of people came to Sagar's house carrying weapons.
During the fight, someone fired a gun and Sagar was badly hurt.
He was taken to the hospital, but the doctors could not save him.
The police later arrested nine people and said they believe Sachet was part of the group.
Two police officers were suspended because the family believes faster police action could have stopped the terrible thing from happening.
The police are still investigating the case.
Sagar, a 22-year-old who worked in Bangalore, was fatally shot during an assault on his family's home in Gurugram's Farrukhnagar area on August 6.
His family alleges the killing could have been prevented if police had acted on a complaint filed after an August 3 dispute with Sachet alias Munna.
Head Constable Ashok and Constable Vinod were suspended and a departmental inquiry launched over the alleged negligence.
Nine people, including Sachet alias Munna, were arrested from Rohtak's Azadgarh in connection with the murder.
A Scorpio vehicle allegedly used in the crime was recovered; Sachet and another accused, Sunil, have prior criminal cases.
