PM Modi Sports Red Tie-Dye Turban at 80th I-Day Celebrations

India celebrates a special holiday every year called Independence Day.

On this day, the country's leader, called the Prime Minister, gives a big speech to the nation.

The speech happens at an old fort called the Red Fort, in the capital city of New Delhi.

This year was the 80th Independence Day, and it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 13th speech in a row.

For his speech, he wore a turban, which is a piece of cloth wrapped around the head.

This year the turban was red with tie-dye patterns.

His outfit also had a white kurta, a chocolate brown vest, and three pocket squares in saffron, green, and white.

The tie-dye turban style is common in the Rajasthan and Gujarat regions of India.

Wearing a different special turban each year has become a tradition for the Prime Minister.

Over the years, he has worn turbans in many colors, like saffron, yellow, pink, and orange.
