India Job Postings Recover as Healthcare Hiring Surges, Tech Slows
Healthcare Roles See Strongest Hiring Growth While Tech Recruitment Slows In India: Survey · news18.com

More jobs were advertised in India in July 2026 than in the previous month.

This happened after job postings had fallen for three months in a row.

Healthcare and care-related jobs grew the most.

Jobs for medical technicians, childcare workers, physicians, surgeons, and therapists increased strongly.

Technology jobs grew more slowly or declined in several areas.

Even so, technology job postings were still higher than before the pandemic.

Employers are also mentioning artificial intelligence in more job descriptions.

This means AI skills are becoming useful in many ordinary jobs, not only technology jobs.

Senior Economist for Indeed APAC

“The real story is beneath the headline number. Healthcare and care-economy roles like medical technicians and childcare are seeing sharp gains, while tech hiring, especially in IT infrastructure and software development, continues to soften. That’s a reminder that even amid strong aggregate growth, employer demand is shifting unevenly across sectors.”

“Indian job postings staged a modest recovery in July, ending three consecutive months of decline. While the rebound was gradual, postings remain well above pre-pandemic levels and continue to outpace other markets Indeed tracks, a sign that India’s formal economy is still expanding at a healthy clip.”
