India Job Postings Recover as Healthcare Hiring Surges, Tech Slows
More jobs were advertised in India in July 2026 than in the previous month.
This happened after job postings had fallen for three months in a row.
Healthcare and care-related jobs grew the most.
Jobs for medical technicians, childcare workers, physicians, surgeons, and therapists increased strongly.
Technology jobs grew more slowly or declined in several areas.
Even so, technology job postings were still higher than before the pandemic.
Employers are also mentioning artificial intelligence in more job descriptions.
This means AI skills are becoming useful in many ordinary jobs, not only technology jobs.
Indian job postings rose 1.2% in July 2026 after declining for three consecutive months.
Postings were 8.3% higher than a year earlier and 84% above pre-pandemic levels.
Medical technicians, childcare workers, physicians and surgeons, and therapists recorded the strongest gains.
Hiring declined in IT infrastructure, software development, data and analytics, and IT systems and solutions.
AI mentions appeared in 349 Indian job titles, with non-tech roles making up 42% of AI-related titles.
