Amazon India is getting ready for a busy festive shopping season.

It has created more than 1.6 lakh temporary work opportunities in India.

These jobs are spread across 400 cities.

Workers will help prepare and deliver online orders.

Most of them have already joined and are being trained.

They will receive safety and welfare benefits available to other associates.

Some workers may continue with Amazon after the festive season, while others may return in future years.

Another shopping company, Meesho, expects to create more than 10 lakh seasonal opportunities through its sellers and delivery network.
