After both families decided to call off the engagement, Namrata registered a cheating case against Vamsi with Vanasthalipuram police in 2025 (Crime No. 984/2025).
Vamsi alleges Namrata sent him threatening emails over the past month, demanding ₹3 crore to withdraw the case and threatening to kill him and his family if not paid.
Tirupati East police have registered a case against Namrata and launched an investigation into the allegations, including the extortion demand.
