LPG Aadhaar e-KYC Deadline August 16: How to Complete Verification

The government wants to make sure that people who get cheaper cooking gas are really who they say they are.

So everyone who uses home cooking gas from companies like Bharat Gas, HP Gas, or Indane needs to prove their identity.

They do this by linking their Aadhaar card, an official identity card, to their gas account.

This process is called e-KYC.

The last day to do it is August 16, 2026.

You can do it on your phone by installing your gas company's app and a special government face-scanning app.

The app will ask you to hold still, look at the camera, and blink.

Then you will get a one-time password on your phone to confirm your identity.

You can also visit a local gas office with your Aadhaar card and gas passbook.

If you miss the deadline, you might stop getting the cheaper subsidised gas price or the direct benefit transfer subsidy.
