Rajasthan ranks among top seven in higher education enrolment
A leader from Rajasthan is sharing good news about schools and colleges in his state.
The government has been giving extra money to help schools get computers, smart boards and digital classrooms.
Because of this, more students in Rajasthan are going to college than ever before.
In the past, about 20 out of every 100 students went to college, and now about 30 do.
Girls are going to college in even bigger numbers, which makes many people happy.
Fewer children are also leaving school early, especially in the older grades.
The state has many schools, teachers and colleges to help students learn.
The government says it wants every child, even in villages, to get a good and modern education.
Rajasthan has 1,06,445 schools, over 1.60 crore students and about 7.93 lakh teachers, according to Ministry of Education data shared in the Rajya Sabha.
28,452 schools in the state have been equipped with modern facilities such as smart classrooms, digital boards, smart televisions and virtual classrooms.
The Central Government approved Rs 361.88 crore in financial assistance between 2023 and 2026 for strengthening digital education infrastructure in Rajasthan.
Rajasthan's higher education Gross Enrolment Ratio rose from 20 per cent in 2014-15 to 29.5 per cent in 2023-24, while the female GER increased from 17.9 per cent to 30.3 per cent.
With about 27.37 lakh students, Rajasthan ranks among the top seven states in higher education enrolment and has the fourth-highest number of colleges in the country.
School dropout rates declined at the primary, upper primary and secondary levels between 2023-24 and 2025-26.
