Sensex, Nifty Rise Over 1% on Lower Crude and FII Inflows
The two main stock market indexes in India, called Sensex and Nifty, went up by a little more than 1% early on Monday.
Big companies in food, metals, and banks helped the rise, while some media and health companies fell a bit.
Prices of oil went down, which made investors feel better.
Money from foreign investors also came in, which helped the market.
Experts think the Nifty could go above 24,500 points if it stays above 24,350, but it might not go much higher because of certain trading patterns.
Sensex rose 800 points (1.02%) to 78,895.10; Nifty up 192.85 points (0.79%) to 24,576.45 in early trade.
Gains led by FMCG, metal, cement, banking; media, pharma, healthcare fell up to 1.6%.
Rising foreign institutional investor inflows and falling crude oil prices helped lift sentiment.
Analysts see a breakout above Nifty 24,500 level, with support at 24,350 and resistance near 24,600.
Brent crude fell 5% to $83.31; WTI dropped 7% to $78.78, supporting market rally.
