Two More Convicted in Visakhapatnam Navy Spying Case
Two more people, Somnath Sanjay Ikade and Sonu Kumar, were sentenced to prison for spying on Indian Navy places.
They were caught in 2019 and were given a big fine.
The court said they have to pay the fine or go to jail for an extra year.
This case is about people spying for other countries and trying to harm India.
The police are still looking into it to find out more.
Two more accused, Somnath Sanjay Ikade and Sonu Kumar, were sentenced to imprisonment in the Visakhapatnam Navy spying case.
This brings the total number of convictions in the case to 10, with trials ongoing for the remaining five accused.
Each accused was sentenced to five years, 11 months, and 15 days of simple imprisonment under Sections 18 of the UA(P) Act and Section 3 of the Official Secrets Act.
The court imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000 on each accused, with an additional year of imprisonment in case of default in payment.
The case involves spying on vital installations and Indian Navy establishments by foreign spies/agents, with investigations continuing to expose the full conspiracy.
