Mizoram police sets up SIT to probe murder of missing teen girl in Lunglei · theprint.in

A 15-year-old girl in Mizoram, a state in India, went missing from her home one evening.

She left her house around 8:30 pm on August 3 and did not come back.

People in her village searched everywhere for her.

Two days later, her body was found near a government school in her village.

Police think she was kidnapped and hurt very badly, which grown-ups call murder.

They formed a special team of three police officers to investigate what happened.

The team is asking people to share helpful information and not spread rumours.

The chief minister of the state said the people responsible must be caught and punished.

So far, nobody has been arrested yet.
