Mumbai 26/11 Attacks: 17 Years Later
Seventeen years ago, on November 26, 2008, terrorists attacked many places in Mumbai, India.
They targeted hotels like Taj Palace and Trident, a train station called CST, and other spots.
Many people were hurt or killed.
But brave hotel staff, security forces, and even a nanny named Sandra Samuel saved many lives.
Sandra saved a little boy named Moshe from the Jewish center where his parents were killed.
The attacks were very scary, but the heroes of Mumbai showed great courage.
The terrorists were mostly stopped, and one was caught and later punished.
People remember this day to honor the brave and never forget what happened.
Terrorists attacked multiple locations in Mumbai, including Taj Palace, Trident, CST, Nariman House, Leopold Café, Cama Hospital, Albless Hospital, and Metro Cinema from November 26-29, 2008.
The attacks resulted in 166 deaths and over 300 injuries, with heroes like hotel staff, security forces, and Sandra Samuel saving many lives.
Sandra Samuel, an Indian nanny, bravely saved two-year-old Moshe Holtzberg from Nariman House during the siege.
Nine terrorists were killed by Indian special forces, and one, Ajmal Kasab, was arrested, given the death penalty in 2010, and executed in 2012.
The attacks were sponsored by Pakistan and were a well-planned operation that lasted four days, with intense firefights and rescue operations.
