Rajkummar Rao's 'Prahaar' gets new release date, now October 16
A new Indian movie called 'Prahaar' is coming to theaters, and its release date just changed.
The movie is about a real-life lawyer named Ujjwal Nikam, who was a public prosecutor, a lawyer who works to prove that people accused of crimes are guilty.
The movie shows Nikam's part in important court cases, including the 1993 Bombay bomb blasts and the 2008 Mumbai train attacks.
A famous actor named Rajkummar Rao plays Ujjwal Nikam and gained about 9-10 kilograms to look like him.
The movie was first supposed to come out on August 7, but the makers moved it to October 16.
On that same day, another big movie called 'Jailer 2' will also be released, so they will compete for audiences.
Many Bengali movies are also scheduled around the Durga Puja festival.
Rajkummar Rao is also busy making another movie about a famous cricketer named Sourav Ganguly.
That movie is called 'Dada' and is planned for release in 2027.
Rajkummar Rao's courtroom drama 'Prahaar,' a biopic of public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, has been rescheduled from August 7 to October 16, 2026.
The film will clash at the box office with Rajinikanth's 'Jailer 2' and Bengali Durga Puja releases 'Bohurupi 2,' 'DeSu7,' and 'Emperor vs Sarat Chandra.'
Directed by Avinash Arun and produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, it also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher, Ashish Vidyarthi, Lalit Prabhakar, and Ritvik Sahore.
The story revisits Nikam's role in legal battles around the 1993 Bombay Blasts and 2008 Mumbai Train Attacks, centering on the prosecution of Ajmal Kasab.
Rao gained about 9-10 kilograms for the role and is also shooting for 'Dada,' the Sourav Ganguly biopic directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.
