Nirmal Man Declared Brain Dead in US Accident
A young man named Nithyanand Reddy Gannu from Nirmal in India was very badly hurt in a car accident in the United States.
He was taken to the hospital, but doctors said he was brain dead because of a rare problem called cerebral fat embolism.
This means his brain stopped working, even though his body was still being kept alive by machines.
His friends started a fundraiser and raised a lot of money to help with his medical bills.
Nithyanand had just finished his studies in the US and was starting his career there.

He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital on July 18.
