Burglars Repeatedly Target Outskirts ATMs Across Karimnagar District
Burglars have been attacking ATMs in and around Karimnagar district.
They appear to prefer machines outside towns, where fewer people are nearby.
In the latest case, two ATMs were robbed early on Sunday.
The thieves took a total of ₹15.68 lakh.
Both machines belonged to the State Bank of India.
Police say similar ATM thefts happened in other parts of the district.
The suspects drove toward Peddapalli and may have left the area by train.
Police formed four teams to find them and suspect some may be from Haryana.
₹15.68 lakh was stolen from two State Bank of India ATMs near Karimnagar within 45 minutes early Sunday.
₹7.13 lakh was taken from the Thimmapur ATM and ₹8.55 lakh from the Durshad ATM.
Police said burglars previously removed an entire cashless ATM from Yellareddypet after failing to open it.
Earlier incidents included ₹27.75 lakh stolen in Gouthaminagar and an attempted ₹19 lakh ATM theft in Korutla.
Police formed four special teams and suspect the latest burglars may have fled toward other states via Peddapalli.
