Nashik ZP CEO Omkar Pawar Wins Public Administration Excellence Award
Omkar Pawar, the head of Nashik Zilla Parishad, received an award for good public administration.
The award honored special projects called Navchetana and Poshandut.
Navchetana helped many women learn about government support and opportunities.
It also supported self-help groups, students, girls and children.
Poshandut asked officers to personally follow the progress of children who were malnourished.
Nearly 2,000 children were monitored through this program.
Many of them improved their nutrition, including 984 who reached normal levels.
Pawar dedicated the award to the officers, workers and other people who helped run the programs.
Omkar Pawar received the S. S. Gadkari Award 2025-26 for excellence in public administration and innovation.
The award recognized Nashik’s Navchetana and Poshandut initiatives supporting women, children, nutrition and education.
Navchetana surveyed and connected 1.06 lakh women with employment, education, rehabilitation and childcare schemes.
Poshandut tracked 1,954 malnourished children; 984 reached normal nutritional status and 611 moved out of severe malnutrition.
The award was presented by former Maharashtra Chief Secretary Swadheen S. Kshatriya at Council Hall in Mumbai.
