Bengal health schemes to cover 1,867 hospitals nationwide
The leader of Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, told people that a big health plan is starting.
This plan helps people pay for doctor visits and hospital stays.
Before, this help was only for people living in Bengal.
Now, people from Bengal can get this help anywhere in India.
The plan includes many hospitals, both private and government ones.
It covers about 1,950 different kinds of treatments.
If someone is not in the main plan, they can still get help from another plan.
This other plan will help about 80 lakh families.
Each family can get up to Rs 5 lakh of care without paying cash.
This is good news for many people who need medical help.
Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced that Ayushman Bharat and Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana will cover 1,240 private hospitals and 627 government medical facilities in the state.
Beneficiaries of the two schemes will now be able to access healthcare services across India, not just in Bengal.
The schemes will provide access to treatment at around 38,600 hospitals nationwide.
Around 80 lakh families not eligible for Ayushman Bharat will be covered under the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana.
The schemes will cover about 1,950 treatment packages, up from more than 1,700 procedures under the earlier state scheme, with cashless coverage up to Rs 5 lakh per beneficiary.
The announcement was made at the 'Ayushman Diwas' event in Bengal.
