Ex-DRDO Chief Returns From Kailash Yatra After Nepal Floods
G. Satheesh Reddy recently came back to India after visiting Mount Kailash and Manasarovar.
He traveled with 30 other pilgrims.
The group came from several countries.
They crossed into the region before serious floods struck Nepal.
While they were completing their pilgrimage, they heard that many people had died and property had been badly damaged.
The group later waited in Saga for permission to leave.
They traveled for almost 16 hours to reach Kathmandu and then returned to India.
Reddy also helped people find information about relatives who were missing or had died.
Former DRDO chairman G. Satheesh Reddy returned to India after completing the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage.
He said he was deeply disturbed by the deaths and extensive damage caused by flash floods in Nepal.
Reddy traveled with a 31-member group from India, Australia, Canada, the UK and the US.
The group crossed Kerung before the floods, then waited two days in Saga for an exit route.
Reddy coordinated with the Indian Embassy to share information about missing and deceased people.
