The National Stock Exchange of India has started selling shares to the public.

This sale is called an initial public offering, or IPO.

Before shares officially list, people sometimes trade them informally in a grey market.

The expected extra price there fell sharply over the past week.

It was Rs 218 on September 11 and about Rs 148 by Thursday afternoon.

Investors can apply for shares until September 21.

Each share is priced between Rs 1,700 and Rs 1,785.

The IPO is an offer for sale, so existing shareholders will receive the money.

Investors are also examining NSE’s lower revenue and transaction-charge income in FY26.
