Actor Ankur Ratan narrowly escapes Nepal’s deadly flash floods

Actor Ankur Ratan was visiting Nepal with a group going on a pilgrimage.

They crossed a mountain area called Rasuwa shortly before a huge flash flood arrived.

The flood came suddenly and gave them no warning that they knew about.

Many people died, and homes, roads, bridges and power facilities were damaged.

Ratan later learned that some places where his group had stayed were swept away.

He feels grateful that his group survived but is very sad for the people affected.

The experience reminded him that nature can be very powerful and people can be vulnerable.

He plans to continue trekking and will wait for local officials to advise the group about returning safely.
