Telangana Deputy CM Pushes for Thermal Power Boost

The Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, has asked officials to make sure that the state's thermal power plants produce as much electricity as possible.

This is because of the El Niño weather conditions affecting the country.

He also said he will visit the Singareni coal mines to check that there is enough good quality coal being supplied to the power plants.

Even though there have been problems with getting enough coal, the power plants have been able to produce a lot of electricity, meeting 31% of the state's needs in 2025–26.

This is a big increase from the previous year.

The Deputy Chief Minister will be going to the mines with the Special Chief Secretary of the Energy Department to look at how coal is being produced, transported, and maintained to make sure everything runs smoothly.
