Indian-Origin Man Pleads Guilty over Child Abuse Material Access
A man named Abhishek Vijaykumar, who lives in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, in the United States, admitted in court that he did something very wrong.
He said he knew he was looking at pictures that show children being hurt in terrible ways.
Looking at material like this is against the law because real children are harmed in it.
He looked at this material on his electronic devices in March 2024.
Police later found more than 200 of these images, and one of them showed a three-year-old child being hurt by an adult.
Saying you did something wrong in court is called pleading guilty.
Because what he did was so serious, a judge could send him to prison for up to 20 years.
He will learn his punishment on January 6, 2027.
Federal agents from the FBI and local detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office worked together on the case to protect children.
