Bhopal Reports 1,157 Two-Wheeler Thefts in Eight Months

Many two-wheelers were stolen in Bhopal during the first eight months of 2026.

There were 1,157 thefts in all.

That means almost five vehicles were stolen each day.

The stolen vehicles were worth about Rs 5.23 crore.

Police found 182 of them, but 975 are still missing.

Govindpura had the most thefts among the city’s police station areas.

Police found 82 places where thefts happened repeatedly.

Thieves reportedly used fake number plates, changed vehicle identification numbers or sold parts.

Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar said officers were being directed to recover more vehicles and catch the thieves.
