Patient Injured After Jumping From Kasturba Hospital Ward
A patient at Kasturba Hospital in Manipal was hurt after jumping from a hospital ward.
Police identified him as 40-year-old Rajesh R Shetty.
The incident happened at about 4 p.m.
on Wednesday.
He allegedly broke a glass window and part of the ward’s outside protective structure.
Hospital security staff quickly rescued him.
He was taken to another ward for more treatment.
Police said he had earlier consumed poison at home.
They also said he was upset about a dowry harassment case.
His father was with him at the hospital.
A 40-year-old inpatient allegedly broke an ICU ward window and jumped from Kasturba Hospital in Manipal.
The patient, identified by police as Rajesh R Shetty, sustained injuries in the incident.
Hospital security staff rescued him and moved him for emergency treatment.
Police said Shetty had been admitted after consuming poison at his home on September 28.
