Hospitalisation cost averaged Rs 6,631 in government hospitals against Rs 50,508 in private hospitals, per the 80th National Sample Survey round.
The panel proposed Continuum of Care packages bundling preventive, diagnostic, curative and palliative services under a single capped financial umbrella.
The panel urged uniform adoption and strict enforcement of the Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2010; a Supreme Court case on standardising hospital charges remains pending.
