Chhattisgarh approves Rs 500 crore AI mission, BEML plant

The government of Chhattisgarh, a state in India, has decided to spend 500 crore rupees on artificial intelligence, or AI.

AI is when computers learn to do things that normally need human brains, like understanding words or finding patterns.

The plan will last for five years.

The government wants to build 100 special computer labs called AI Data Labs and five big research centres across the state.

More than 300 new businesses called startups will get help, and over 50 government services will use AI.

Six lakh students and 1.5 lakh government workers will be trained in AI skills.

The leaders hope this will create jobs and make the state a hub for technology, just like the national IndiaAI Mission.

The government also approved a factory for giant earth-moving machines and new digital tools for managing public works.

It also accepted a bank grant to help pay for the state's big future plans, called Vision 2047.
