Pune IT Firm Booked Over Alleged ₹75.13 Lakh Job Fraud
Police in Pune are investigating an IT company accused of taking money from its employees.
The employees said they had to pay part of their yearly salary to get or keep their jobs.
About 38 people allegedly paid between ₹1 lakh and ₹3 lakh each.
Together, the payments reportedly added up to ₹75.13 lakh.
The company allegedly closed about four months ago.
The employees also said they were not paid for the four months before it closed.
A workers’ organization called the Federation of Information Technology Employees is helping them.
Police have registered a case and are looking for the people named in the complaint.
Police booked a Pune IT firm and six others over an alleged ₹75.13 lakh fraud involving 38 employees.
Employees said they were asked to pay 30% of their annual salary package for employment.
Each employee allegedly paid between ₹1 lakh and ₹3 lakh between May 5 and September 12.
The company reportedly shut down around four months ago, with employees claiming four months of unpaid salaries.
Chaturshringi police registered a case and are searching for the accused using bank records, screenshots and other documents.
