Congress MLA Urges BMC to Protect Voting Rights of Transit Residents

A Congress MLA named Amin Patel wrote a letter to the BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide.

He asked the BMC to make sure that people living in temporary homes because their buildings are being rebuilt do not lose their right to vote.

These people are worried that their names might be taken off the voter list because they are not living at their permanent addresses right now.

Patel wants the BMC to keep these people on the voter list using their original addresses.

This way, they can still vote even if they are living in temporary places while their homes are being rebuilt.
