Telangana Revises Autorickshaw Fares, Sets ₹30 Minimum Charge
Telangana has changed how much autorickshaw rides will cost.
The first 1.6 kilometres will cost at least ₹30.
After that, each extra kilometre will cost ₹14.
If the auto is stopped but waiting, it can charge ₹0.75 per minute.
Rides between 11 pm and 5 am will cost one-and-a-half times more.
A small luggage fee is allowed for some packages, but not for briefcases or handbags.
Auto meters will be updated to show the new prices.
Until then, drivers must display cards showing both the old and new fares.
Telangana has set the minimum autorickshaw fare at ₹30 for the first 1.6 km.
Passengers will pay ₹14 for each kilometre after the initial 1.6 km.
Detention charges for stationary autorickshaws are capped at ₹0.75 per minute.
Night journeys from 11 pm to 5 am will cost 1.5 times the normal fare.
Existing meters must be reset within three months, while tariff cards must show old and revised fares.
