Food safety officers in Bengaluru check that restaurants serve safe food to people.

They found some food items that were old and not safe to eat.

Because of this, they closed three kitchens at Hotel Sky, UB City, and Pegs and Bottles.

They also visited a McDonald's and noticed a chemical being used to clean used frying oil.

Officers checked KFC and Subway too and took samples of chicken, bread, and mayonnaise.

These samples were sent to a lab for testing.

The officers also looked at warehouses that supply food to these restaurants.

They checked 60 big hotels and collected 77 food samples.

They took away large amounts of unsafe food, including 640 kilograms of meat and fish.

The restaurants may face action once the lab test reports come back.
