US Delays Preliminary India Stainless Pipe Duty Ruling
The United States is investigating whether companies in India and Türkiye received government subsidies that helped them sell stainless steel pipes more cheaply.
These pipes are used to carry liquids and gases in industrial systems.
The US Department of Commerce was supposed to make an early decision by October 8.
It has now moved that deadline to December 14.
Three US companies asked for more time because the investigation involves many complicated subsidy programs.
They also said some companies being investigated had not answered Commerce’s first questions.
The delay does not mean that the foreign producers did anything wrong.
Duties could be collected only if the required government investigations ultimately find subsidies and harm to US industry.
