Delhi Court Rejects Bail for Former AAP MLA in MCOCA Case
Naresh Balyan was a member of the Aam Aadmi Party and used to be a lawmaker in Delhi.
He was arrested in December 2024 for a serious crime law called MCOCA, which deals with organized crime.
A judge said he had a phone call with a gangster named Kapil Sangwan, which the police say shows he helped the gang.
Even though a lower court had let him go for a different case, the Delhi High Court said he must stay in jail for the MCOCA case.
Balyan’s lawyers said there was no proof against him, but the court disagreed and kept him in custody.
