Jammu University has resolved a long-standing problem involving land near its campus.

The University is set to receive 147 kanals of land for new buildings and academic facilities.

The land had been held by the Army.

In return, the J&K administration will give the Army land in Nagrota and Jammu.

Vice Chancellor Umesh Rai said the additional space will help the University plan its future.

University employees praised his efforts to settle the matter.

They said the expansion could improve facilities for students, teachers, researchers and employees.

The land issue began when the campus site was allotted in 1973.
