Darjeeling Toy Train Special Services Begin October 1
The Darjeeling toy train will offer special rides during the autumn and winter season.
These services will run from October 1, 2026, until January 3, 2027.
Visitors can take diesel trains between Darjeeling and Ghum.
There will be two rides from Darjeeling each day and two return rides from Ghum.
A steam train will travel from Kurseong to Mahanadi in the morning.
A diesel train will make the same trip in the afternoon.
The railway announced the timetable for these special services.
Earlier, heavy rain had stopped services after a roof collapsed and injured workers.
Northeast Frontier Railway will run special Darjeeling Himalayan Railway services from October 1, 2026, to January 3, 2027.
Two daily diesel joyrides will operate between Darjeeling and Ghum in each direction.
Morning Darjeeling-Ghum services depart at 9:20 am and 11:25 am.
Kurseong passengers can choose a morning Red Panda steam service to Mahanadi or an afternoon Mukta Dhara diesel service.
The services follow an earlier suspension caused by heavy rain, a roof collapse and worker injuries.
