The Rajya Sabha, India's upper house, was shut for the day on Friday because some opposition members were shouting slogans and trying to stop the meeting.

A Congress leader, Mallikarjun Kharge, wanted to file a special notice called Rule 267, but the chairman, C.P. Radhakrishnan, said no.

The opposition kept shouting about the Home Minister and a donation scam, which made it hard to talk.

A minister named Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the opposition was doing street politics.

Some members from the ruling party tried to talk about local problems, but they were drowned out by the noise.

The house will meet again on Monday, August 3.
