Gujarat Leaders and 182 MLAs Join Ek Ped Plantation Drive
Gujarat’s leaders gathered to plant trees together.
The event took place at the Secretariat Complex in Gandhinagar.
It was part of a campaign called Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this campaign to encourage people to protect nature.
The Chief Minister, Assembly Speaker, ministers and all 182 MLAs took part.
They planted many kinds of trees near a statue of Mahatma Gandhi.
Leaders said trees give us oxygen, cleaner air and shade for animals and birds.
They encouraged people across Gujarat to plant more trees for future generations.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and all 182 MLAs joined the plantation drive in Gandhinagar.
The event was held under the third phase of the nationwide Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign.
Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary said the campaign was becoming a people’s movement for environmental conservation.
Legislators planted species including peepal, tamarind, jamun, kadam and silk cotton trees.
Each tree planted during the programme was identified with an individual MLA’s name.
