A tiger attacked Santosh Meshram near his farm in a village close to Kanha National Park.

The attack happened in Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh.

Meshram was hurt on his head and both hands.

He is being treated at Baihar Hospital.

Doctors said his condition is stable but are watching him carefully because of his head injuries.

Villagers made loud noises and moved toward the tiger with sticks.

This caused the tiger to return to the forest.

Officials are tracking the tiger’s movements.

Two other tiger attacks in the district this month killed local residents.
