Market Pulse: Key triggers to watch before the August 26 trading session · CNBC TV 18

A new poll asked Americans what they think about the war involving the United States and Iran.

Only 31 out of every 100 people supported military action against Iran.

That number was higher in March and earlier this month.

Support among Republicans also went down.

President Donald Trump’s approval rating was 33 percent in the poll.

This was his lowest rating in Reuters/Ipsos polling during either of his terms.

Most Americans, 83 percent, think the war will last a long time.

The poll shows that support for the military action is declining while expectations of a long conflict remain high.
