Burglars Steal Cash, Silver Chain From Virar House
A house in Virar was reportedly robbed at night.
The theft happened during the Gauri-Ganpati celebrations.
The family usually lives in Vasai and visits the house only sometimes.
Burglars allegedly broke the front-door lock to get inside.
They also forced open two cupboards in a bedroom.
The thieves reportedly took between ₹1 lakh and ₹2 lakh in cash and a silver chain.
They escaped from the back of the house.
Neighbours found the damage in the morning and told the family.
Local residents want more police patrols to help prevent similar incidents.
