Bihar Officers Praise HYDRAA’s Hyderabad Lake Restoration Efforts
A group of officers from Bihar visited Hyderabad to learn how the city is protecting its lakes.
They visited Nalla Cheruvu, a lake in Kukatpally.
The lake had previously faced encroachments and needed restoration.
Workers removed encroachments and improved the lake’s water inlets and outlets.
These changes have helped reduce the risk of flooding nearby.
Residents said groundwater levels also improved after the lake was rejuvenated.
The officers inspected the lake’s new bund and children’s play area.
They said the visit helped them understand the difficult work of protecting lakes in growing cities.
