President Murmu Completes Submarine Sortie
President Droupadi Murmu went on a submarine trip on December 28, 2025.
She boarded the INS Vaghsheer, a special submarine made in India, at the Karwar Naval Base in Karnataka.
The Chief of the Navy, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, went with her.
This was a big deal because it's only the second time an Indian President has done this.
The first was President APJ Abdul Kalam.
President Murmu is the top boss of the military, so her visit showed support for the Navy.
She saw how the submarine works and talked to the sailors.
The trip happened on the Western Seaboard, which is an important area for the Navy.
It was a special moment to learn about the tough jobs submariners do.
The submarine was built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited using a design from Naval Group and was commissioned in January 2025.
