Thane Students Send 'Real Heroes' Letters to Armed Forces, Police

Just before India celebrates Independence Day, students in the city of Thane wrote letters to the country's soldiers and police officers.

They wrote the letters on postcards by hand.

In the cards, the children said thank you to the people who guard the borders and keep cities safe.

Many wrote things like 'Salute to your service' and 'You are our real heroes.'

The children said the safety and peace citizens enjoy every day come from the sacrifices of security personnel who live far from their families.

The activity was part of a big national campaign called 'Har Ghar Tiranga,' which means 'Tricolor in Every Home.'

The city's education department organized the event across many civic schools.

Important city leaders and police officers visited some schools, talked with the students, and read the postcards.

The goal was to teach children about patriotism, civic responsibility, and respect for people who protect the nation.
