The Finance Ministry announced the interest rate for some government employees’ provident fund savings.

The rate is 7.1% for the three months from October through December 2026.

It is the same rate that applied in the two earlier quarters of 2026.

The announcement was made in a resolution dated 5 October.

GPF is a savings fund for eligible government employees covered by the old pension scheme.

Employees contribute to their accounts, and interest is added to their savings.

The amount saved can also change with contributions and withdrawals.
