Three Azim Premji University students win EnviroChamp Fellowship 2026
Three college students in India won a special award called the EnviroChamp Fellowship.
Their names are Anuja Krishna, Shivaani Arunprasad and Vanya Hegde.
They study at Azim Premji University and care a lot about protecting nature.
The award helps young women who work to keep the environment clean and safe.
Winners get money, a guide to help them, and classes where they can learn new skills.
Anuja studied a river, Shivaani studied light pollution, and Vanya studied traditional food systems.
They were chosen from many students all over India.
Only ten students get this award, and they come from many top universities.
The award wants them to become future leaders who help solve big environmental problems.
Three undergraduate students from Azim Premji University—Anuja Krishna, Shivaani Arunprasad and Vanya Hegde—were selected for the Avery Dennison Foundation EnviroChamp Fellowship 2026.
They are among 10 fellows chosen from across India through an independent selection process run by the Avery Dennison Foundation in partnership with the Institute of International Education (IIE).
The fellowship provides a scholarship of USD 1,500, mentorship, expert-led professional development sessions and a recognition ceremony.
The students were recognised for projects addressing the Kosasthalaiyar River, light pollution and traditional food systems respectively.
The programme aims to nurture the next generation of women leaders addressing environmental challenges through research, innovation and community engagement.
