Jeevandan to Introduce Hand Transplants in Telangana
The Jeevandan program in Telangana is going to start a new surgery called hand transplantation.
This means doctors will take a hand from a donor and give it to someone who needs it.
They are also talking about doing pancreas transplants because many of these organs are not being used even though there are people who need them.
A few hospitals, like NIMS and Osmania General Hospital, want to do these surgeries.
The program wants more government hospitals to help with organ donation because one donor can save up to eight lives.
Telangana has already had more than 200 donors, which is good, but they want to do even better.
They also want to make sure organs like the pancreas are used more, especially for children with diabetes.
