Vande Bharat Train Connectivity for Mangaluru
Mangaluru to get Vande Bharat soon, says minister Somanna · theprint.in

The Minister of Railways, V Somanna, announced on social media that the Vande Bharat train will soon start running between Bengaluru and Mangaluru.

This train has been a long-standing demand of the people in the Mangaluru region.

The 55-kilometer stretch of the Ghat section between Sakleshpur and Subrahmanya Road has been electrified to make the route ready for electric traction.

This will allow for cleaner, faster, and more efficient train operations.

The announcement was made in response to a social media post by former Infosys Chief Finance Officer Mohan Das Pai, who had also expressed the need for this train route.

The completion of the electrification works on the challenging 55-km Sakleshpur–Subrahmanya ghat section marks a major milestone in strengthening railway infrastructure in the coastal region.

The electrification of the ghat section is expected to significantly improve rail connectivity between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, facilitating freight movement to the coast, port operations, smoother train services, and a boost to commercial activities.
