Parliamentary panel urges integrated security framework for J&K tourist spots
The Parliament of India has a group of members called the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs, and they study how to keep the country safe.
They are worried about the safety of tourists who visit Jammu and Kashmir, a beautiful region in northern India.
In April 2025, terrorists attacked tourists in a scenic place called Baisaran Valley, near Pahalgam, and 26 people were killed.
After that sad event, the committee visited tourist spots and border areas to check how safe they are.
They said popular tourist places should have cameras that are watched from one central control room.
They also said emergency teams, ambulances and safe escape routes should be ready at busy destinations.
Safety phone numbers and instructions should be shown in many languages at hotels and bus stops.
Near the border in Ladakh, the committee wants drones and modern equipment to keep watch.
