Probe Ordered After Irregularities Found at Bengaluru Environmental Lab

Officials said the laboratory was operating without valid pollution-control consent after its Consent for Establishment expired in 2025.
Only one of the three analysts declared in the laboratory’s Ministry approval was present during the inspection.
The laboratory allegedly discharged waste into an open pit and charged substantially less than Central Pollution Control Board analysis rates.
The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board was directed to inspect all similar laboratories across the state.
