Woman Regains Finger Movement After Rare Delhi Joint Replacement

Doctors at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital replaced the damaged joint with an artificial one.

A 30-year-old woman regained movement in her left middle finger after a rare small-joint replacement surgery in Delhi.
The procedure replaced her damaged proximal interphalangeal joint using a two-piece CapFlex PIP implant.
She had suffered severe joint damage, significant bone loss and stiffness after a road accident.
Sir Ganga Ram Hospital performed the surgery on September 18 and discharged her the next day.
Doctors said the implant was used for the first time in Delhi for this type of small-joint replacement.
