Srisailam Reservoir Rises as Inflows Surge
The Srisailam reservoir in India was almost empty, but it has started getting a lot of water from nearby dams.
The water level went up to 849.70 feet, which is close to the full level.
The water comes from the Almatti, Narayanpur, and Jurala dams in Karnataka.
No water is being released from the reservoir yet, and the power plants are not running.
The Godavari river, which also needs water, is getting less flow now.
The Sriramsagar Project is getting 10,358 cusecs of water, and its storage is 31.92 TMC out of a possible 80.5 TMC.
The Kadem Project is releasing 4,000 cusecs, and the Sripada Yellampally Project is receiving 8,326 cusecs.
Srisailam reservoir, near dead storage, now receiving 1.52 lakh cusecs inflow, raising level to 849.70 ft.
Inflows come from Almatti, Narayanpur, and Jurala dams in Karnataka, adding over 12 TMC per day.
No outflows yet; power generation at both banks has not started.
